What is the Rotary Club

Rotary is a worldwide organisation encouraging men and women in the idea of worthy enterprise, to foster acquaintance as an opportunity for service in the local community and worldwide. There are 1.2 million members worldwide in 33,000 clubs. In the U.K. there are 55,000 members and 1,840 clubs.

The idea of Rotary is not just fund raising but good fun doing it. Social events, camaraderie and friendships formed are ample reward for membership. There is a small degree of formality in the organisation and club meetings but formality is kept to a minimum.
